Bike upgrades
So, I recently said adios to the Surly 1x1 frame I had been riding and racing on over the Summer but it was time to sink my teeth into a true niner frame. I managed to pick up a used Surly Karate Monkey which I plan to have running by this Saturday for Homie Fall Fest. Nothing special but I'll prolly have it repainted at somepoint and get a sweet wheelset by next Summer. Until then it'll do pig, it'll do.I also managed to unload a lot of bike parts that had been sitting around, including the 26er fixie. While it was sad to say goodbye to the rear wheel I had built using a White Industries Erik's Eccentric Eno hub (Freakin SWEET! I'l definately get another) and Mavic 717 rim it was time. A new friend I met during an alleycat for the BFF this year got the bike and misc parts.
Which leads to the bigger news! I finally bought a new, yes new fixie track frame from Eigthinch along with a pair of their sexy Amelia wheels. Ordered Saturday afternnon and had everything as of yesterday. Did I mention bargain price...$250 for wheelset with tires, tubes, fixed cog, lockring, frame, headset, seatpost, seatpost clamp, fork, and fixie tool. Oh, and they threw in the new C.O.G. mag with a writeup on them. As of last night I dropped the frame off at One On One bikes for some facing and chasing and hope to start the build tonite and have it done for Track or Treat 3 tomorrow. So far all I have for pics is the one above but I'll chronical the build, maybe...

2009 MN State Cyclocross Championships
So, I'm not a cyclocross guy but thought I'd throw this out anyway. The 2009 MN State Cyclocross Championships on November 14-15, at Bassett Creek, MN.
Very interesting history, worth checking out. Maybe I'll motivate enough to go out and bring back some pictures.
